Workshop: Improvisational Scenework for the Non-Improv Performer.

This one-day intensive is designed for the actor, dancer, singer, musician or teacher who wants to explore the empowering potential of scriptless theater outside of an “improv comedy” setting.

Through techniques developed for improv comedy, conventional and avant-garde theater, music, and dance we explore the power and immediacy of improvisational scenework. Students will take away the ability to confidently and consistently perform engaging scriptless scenes with intensity and humor.
This is a sample class for a full course to be offered in the spring of 2016. That workshop will expand upon styles and techniques of performing scenework. We’ll also explore improvisational uses of music, movement, and text.
This class is open to performing and teaching artists of all genres and levels.
